Norma Barone

Norma Barone

She happily disregarded her own life’s ups and downs in order to focus on her children. Her answer was always “yes”. Norma was outgoing and easily made friends wherever she went. She loved the sunshine of Florida and the Jersey Shore and enjoyed the fresh air of bike rides and walking. She taught her grandkids to play everything from Pinochle to Uno to Hand and Foot. rnLater years found her enjoying bus trips to the casinos, eating crab cakes at Dino’s Diner and shopping. From the 50’s she cheered for the Phils and hated when Howard struck out. She had Boost Slushy in her veins and loved the Cream Doughnuts and Butter Cakes from the L&M. She was never without a cup of coffee in her hand and a dog by her side. rnAt a dance Norma would meet the late Michael Barone. She was an only child and he was from a large family but together they made it work. She quickly learned to cook every Italian dish. Their union was blessed by 5 children: Steven, Michael, Sandra Barone-Tweed (Ken), Leanne Fraser (Ed) and the late baby Nancy; three grandchildren, Steven Thomas, Kaitlyn and Megan. rnCome celebrate 79 family centered years Tuesday 7-9 p.m. and Wed. 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. Mass of Christian Burial Wed. 10 a.m. at Resurrection Parish (St. Casimir Site, Riverside). Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery.
