Even his bad moods were good moods; Bruce always maintained a sunny disposition. Ironworking was imbedded in his DNA. His father, brothers and son all belong to local 401. Bruce erected steel in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York, making friends as he went along. If he was there, everyone at Falcon Steel could rest assured the job would be running smoothly. His Lawn was cut at least three times a week and he tested the water in his pool several hundred times a day. He relaxed a bit by riding his Victory Motorcycle and played a little golf, though he threw more than his fair share of clubs. rnrnA young Kathy McGovern noticed that a guy named Bruce was dating all of her friends. They too would soon begin dating. Their 39 year marriage was blessed by Matt and his wife Mary, who was more than a son, he was Bruce’s best friend and co-worker. Bruce was an expert babysitter for grandkids Tyler and Ava Grace, though he admitted it was more tiring than ironwork. He is survived by his brothers George, Mike, Mark, Brian and Paul and his sister, Miriam Murphy. Pre-deceased by his brother, David and parents, George and Maragaret. rnrnCome celebrate 59 easy going years Tuesday 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday 9-10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 140 Broad Street, Swedesboro where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment Lake Park Cemetery.     Dear Kathy and Matt,nBruce was an amazing man. He always had a smile, welcome hug, joyous laughter, and was so interested in sharing great conversations. Greatgrandmom Fran in FL said that even though she only met Bruce a few times, she loved his stories about work, the grandkids and retirement.     My memories of Bruce and his family are from Krams ave. we lived on Mitchell St. My brother Eddie hung with Paul and we all went around in the same circle. Later I married and moved from Mitchell & Leverington ave to Mitchell & Krams ave. So so many good memories but prayers and thoughts are with you and the whole family. May He rest in peace in his parents arms.

    I met Bruce when I was 16 and dating his brother George. He eventually became my brother-in-law and although his brother and I divorced, I very much appreciated that he remained a part of my childrens lives. He was a great kid who became a wonderful family man. We will all miss you Bruce. God bless your family.

    Dear the Shepardson family, so very sorry for the loss of such a great man. I had the pleasure of being able to work with Bruce on a couple of projects in Philly, and have great respect and admiration for Bruce. He will be missed greatly and I am glad that I had the oppurtunity to work with him and will never forget the things he taught me. My deepest condolences, may he rest in peace.

    Kathy, matt and mary I am so sorry for your loss. Bruce was a great man, husband, father and poppop..he will truly be missed. One of my memories of bruce is. When I was young my family spent time down aunt libbys and uncle johns home in egg harbor right with the river right in their backyard. Well one weekend the adults were all sitting on the boat (we did that a lot) drinking and enjoying themselves when bruce and patrick decided to get on floats and go down the river to the nudest colony which was around a mile or so down the river. So off they go with their beers. Now kathy is on the boat. Yelling bruce. Bruce. Come back bruce. And falls right off the boat. Thank god she didnt get hurt. But we were peeing our pants laughing to hard. Bruce and patrick never made it to the nudest colony a fellow boater towed them back and the party continued. Such great memories.
