Doris was known to all as a sweet, selfless and kind hearted soul. Although in her 80s, her youthful spirit didn’t allow her to think of herself as an “old biddy”. Although reaching the milestone of her 80th birthday last year, Doris had a young soul and sometimes, after catching her reflection in the mirror, she would ask who that old lady was in the mirror. Sometimes frugal to a fault, although she loved to browse, she had to be talked into buying even the smallest of things. Retired from her last job as a cook at the Masonic Home in Burlington for many years, she loved to spend her down time rooting for the Phillies, socializing with her friends from Riverside High School Class of 1950 or just lavishing attention on her cat.rnDoris is the mother of Sandy Coons (Bill) of Maple Shade, Denise Libbrecht (Mike) of Hawthorne, Bobby (Diane) of Mt. Laurel, Patty Smick (Todd) of Medford and the late Richard Elliot and Glenn Vezirian. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.rnCome celebrate Doris’ 81 wonderful years (Jan. 22, 1932-Jan. 12, 2013) Thursday from 10:30 AM at the Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside, where the service will be at 11:30 AM.
