“Hang in long enough and you’ll get used to that too.” Jean was a great mom who loved the simple things in life. She never lost her love for old fashioned cooking and food. Piegogis, Kilbasa and Polish Pancakes reflected her roots. Though Aces seemed not to like her, at pinochle she showed no mercy. Free time found her playing the slots, especially the party pooper and pussy cats, and enjoying a little Jeopardy. “Being a senior citizen is not for sissies”, she’d say. Jean stayed strong until the very end.rnrnA family wedding brought together a young Jean Drensewicz and a young man named John. I have fond memories of Aunt Jean (actually she was my God Mother Jean). There are pictures of her holding me at my baptism. Great memories of Christmases and summer holidays. The best were the summer holidays at her home in NJ. I loved it there. I learned to ride a bike there. Those memories are wounderful. May her family be comforted and she forever rest in peace.
