Bette Louise Fenimore
Bette was like a mother but with more frosting, a garden of love grew within her heart, she never ran out of hugs or cookies…simply put, she was “mom mom”. Her favorite days were always those spent with the grandkids; trips to Phillies games, the circus, the Ice Capades or just a weekend at her home in Delanco were great excuses to spoil them. But, her love of family was never restricted to any given generation, she doted on them equally. Come Sunday all were invited for dinner. Always the cordial host, Bette was there to greet everyone at the front door as they arrived and treat them to her baked macaroni and apple pie. Black Friday wasn’t for shopping. It was for baking Christmas Cookies…as was every day after until the week of the 25th. When deer season came around, she and the other “hunting wives” made the most of the time. Given, this meant trips to Aruba, Caribbean cruises, Bermuda and even Ireland to kiss the Blarney Stone while the men were in the woods. When not traveling, she was an active member of America Legion Post 115 Ladies’ Auxiliary in Beverly.
Bette grew up on the same block as a boy named Marcus. By their late teens they were dating, and before Mark left to serve in the Military, they were engaged. Wed in 1953, together their lives were blessed by their children: Kathi Rossi (Mike), Bette Lou Grob (Dean), and Mary Jane Offord (the late Jeff), all of Riverside, and again by their grandchildren: Krystin (Joe), Shaun (Kristy), Heather, Kolleen, Amanda, Michael, Brian, Ryan, Bridget, Shawn, Shannon, Patrick and Kasey as well as by their 8 great-grandchildren.
Come celebrate Bette’s 83 wonderful years (Oct. 6, 1930 – Feb. 16, 2014) Thursday from 6-8 PM and Friday from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Sweeney Funeral Home, 337 Bridgeboro St., Riverside. The Service will follow at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 218 S. Fairview St., Riverside. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Life Choice Hospice 200 Campbell Dr., Suite 106 Willingboro, NJ 08046.

She will be greatly missed,her smile her gentle ways and when she went to the Legion she brought her pride and joy (her wonderful Bread Pudding ) for all to enjoy.Will keep her in our memory bank , Sincerely Fred & Barb
We feel honored to have been able to get to know Bette, even if for a short time, and were so saddened to hear of her passing. She will forever hold a spot in our hearts and always be remembered as our kind and caring neighbor. She will be missed.
What a beautiful obituary of a wonderful life shared with others. Mrs. Fenimore was such a sweet woman who always had a smile on her face. My deepest condolences go out to ALL her family, especially PopPop. I’m sitting here with a smile on my face right now thinking of her.
I first met Bette in 1950 at the Corn Exchange Bank in Philadelphia,PA. where we were bookkeepers. She was the nicest person you would ever want to know and work with for six years. I was honored to be a bridesmaid in her and Marks’ wedding 60 years ago. I remember all the snow and being carried by an usher over the snow banks in front of the church and up the steps. I remember parts of the Wedding and reception. Also the handsome usher who offered me a ride home to Palmyra in all the snow. Bette always had a smile and was a pleasure to be part of her life.
To the family I express my deep sympathy for the loss of your dear
loved one. Death is truly an enemy but there is comfort to know

I remember the day we shared together at the birth of Emily , her great granddaughter and my granddaughter . It was the first time she experienced seeing the birth of a great granddaughter. Even though I didn’t know her for a long time she was a kind and loving person devoted to her family. She will be greatly missed but is now at peace with God. Condolences to her family.
So many wonderful memories come to mind! Always had so much fun at the mountain
house in Pa. Didn’t matter what we were doing, shopping, poker games, or enjoying Bette’s
delicious pies, it was with a lot of laughter! Our trips were so special. We have been so
blessed to have had such a lovely and wonderful friend. Our prayers are with Mark and
family.
It is very comforting reading what others have written about my Mom. She was truly a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. There are so many memories….. The funeral home is filled with many pictures outlining her life, from early childhood, high school, her and dad’s wedding to all the grands and great grandchildren. I don’t think I can pick just one memory as a favorite as there are too many. She taught me to cook, sew, knit, crochet……and the list goes on. Mom – you are at peace now, reunited with your parents and siblings. I love you, until we meet again!
Ant Betty was a very important in my life when my father Howard Norcross passed away at a very young age of 40. Uncle Mark and Ant Betty was there to help my mother with racing 4 kids. I spent every summer at their home. We spent a lot of time on Mark’s farm. When we got home from the farm there a very hot meal waiting for us. Ant Betty had a rule at dinner that whatever she put on the table you had at least try it. Ant Betty was one hell of a cook. When we were done dinner all the kid and I had to clean up all the dinner dishes. I was treated like I was there son that the never had. After growing up we had family gathering in the back yard. After growing up I use to she Ant Betty at the Zurberg Hospital were she work for many years and was like by all.
Ant Betty you’re going to be missed very much and you’re now in a much better place. Say hi to my dad, Dean and Nan for me.

I feel so honored to have know Bette, first as Kathi’s friend coming to the house for sleep overs on the weekends. Which of course included L&M in the morning! I always felt so at home when I was at the Fenimore’s house. Then to work with Bette at Zurbrugg. My sincere apologies for not being able to make it tonight, Jay will be coming to express our deepest sympathies. You all are in my prayers and I know she is at peace now.
My deepest sympathy and prayers are with the entire Fenimore family. Your Mom was truly a special lady who was kind to everyone. I always remember her working in the cashiers office at ZMH and no matter who walked by her door she would always have a wonderful smile and a “hello, how are you.” Whenever I was having a rough day I could always count on running by her window and seeing her contagious smile and her yelling my name and asking how I was through the glass and making my day better. It is truly a blessing to have known your Mom.
Betty worked for me for a couple years at Zurbrugg Hospital. I was the credit manager and she worked in the cashier department.
I remember Betty always smiling and laughing. I enjoyed working with her. She was a very special person.
