Marian used her high school education wisely. Those business courses secured a job with the Army recruiting office in her hometown of Wilkes Barre, Pa. Not only was it a good job with a great location but it was where she met Robert Rushton who came to report to the Commanding Officer, her boss. Eventually they married and were transferred to the Philadelphia area. For a 3 year period they were deployed to Hawaii. This suited Marian since she wallowed in the adventure of traveling and making new friends. But all good things come to an end and they settled in West Deptford. Marian went to work at ARC in Lindenwold as a Office Manager. She enjoyed that job and stayed until a better one came along. In the early nineties she retired to become a full time grandmother. The best job ever.
In addition to her man in uniform, Robert she is survived by daughters: Carolyn (Mike) Fitzgerald and Cathryn Rushton, a sister, June Hageal and grandchildren, Cathlin and Daniel Fitzgerald.

Aunt Marian and Uncle Bob were very good friends of my parents – Don & Irene Finn. I remember as a child spending many wonderful times together! There was a trip to Virginia where we stayed with Norma and I remember when Aunt Marian worked for Edmund Scientific. We were “pen pals” and would write letters back & forth to each other and every time she’d write me back – she’d include a little “scientific”gift! I distinctly remember a prism she sent me! It was my favorite gift! Her & Uncle Bob visited me in my apartment on occasion and I have beautiful pictures of her holding my son Hunter when he was just a baby!
You are in a peaceful beautiful place now – and I’m sure that my Mom & Dad are welcoming you!
