William T. Johnston
William T. Johnston, 79 of Riverside, died October 31 with his family at his side. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Thelma Johnston and was the brother of Mary Louise Kloss (Bruce), Elizabeth Powers (Walter), Polly Kline and Linda Wolfram. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Services under the direction of Sweeney Funeral Home will be private at the convenience of the family.

Billy was our families friend. Like a son to my father, Bill Steinberg. Like a brother to Howie and myself. We all worked together for many, many, years. We laughed, we agreed and disagreed like any family does. I was one year old when Billy started working with my father and I’m 65 years old. One thing will always be, and that it a special love for Billy. We pray for his family and always pray for Billy to be with The Lord, and rest in peace.

Bill was always a gentleman. He took care of me many times when he worked for Holiday House. Patient and kind and a quiet force in the store. I know his sisters and they were devoted to their brother. Rest in Peace Bill.

Uncle Bill was one of thee most greatest men throughout my life.he was not just a cousin but a brother and best friend to my father.he was like a second dad to my brother and I growing up.Uncle Bill was loved so much by is family,friends,his toen,and even my friends felt as though he was their Uncle Bill too! I will hold my life long memories of him forever in my heart!! I love you Uncle Bill and will miss you.Rest in peace,until i see you again …
We are deeply saddened at the sudden loss of our friend, Bill. He was always like a second father to me. I was fortunate enough to have spent some time with him the night before his death! He seemed perfectly fine which is why his death came as such a shock the next day! He was a true friend to my family and me. We will cherish his memory & keep him and his family in our prayers during this very difficult time. RIP, our friend.
Bill I know you are in heaven and having a great time. I am jealous. I will miss you very much, I will miss making your favorite foods. I will miss sitting on your porch with you. I will just miss you so much. It will not be the same at Thanksgiving or Christmas without you. I look for the day when we will all be together in heaven as Jesus’s promises to those who believe.
Precious Uncle Bill, you always thought of others before yourself. You gave me my first little socks when I was a baby, bringing them all the way from Germany. Your tender heart is what we all loved most about you. Your quiet gentleness and the loving care with which you served our grandmother and great-grandmother is embroidered into our family and serves as a reminder of how we are to care for those we love. Thank you for that. We rejoice that as Christians we know we will be together in our heavenly home one day. We look for that day when we will see you again. I love you, Uncle Bill.
This man will be so missed in Riverside. You didnt grow up in Riverside and not know Uncle Bill. He might not have been a blood relative but he was everyones Uncle Bill. He was always there for a smile and kind word. This tiny obituary does not do this man justice. He was a hugh part of Holiday House and the community. I for one will never forget him. He will live in our hearts forever! Rest in Peace Uncle Bill until we meet again <3
My Uncle Bill, will be missed very much. Especially with the holidays approaching. There will be an empty seat at our table this year. We loved your stories (serving our country in Germany with Elvis), and hearing local news about Riverside. You had a sense of humor, and yet quiet and humble. It will be hard driving around the park and not seeing you sitting on you porch. I know you were greeted by St. Peter, but I am sure Nonnie, Gramp, grand mom, grand pop, were waiting with open arms. Save a seat at the table for us, until then, may you soul rest in Gods heavenly peace.
