Even though he was a native of Massachusetts Bob became a fixture of Edgewater Park. He familiarized himself with the neighborhood while taking long walks and talking to the locals. He settled in The American Legion Post 115 and, became one of the boys quickly. When working in the kitchen, he brought expertise from his last job at Amherst College. The only thing that showed he was not a native to the area was his love for the Yankees. After High School, Bob joined the Air Force and served during the Vietnam Era. At a Faith Hill concert he met Michelle. It wasn’t love at first sight, but Bob’s patience and persistence paid off in the long run. They came to visit her family, and on the way back they would stop at their favorite spot Columbus Flee Market.
Bob is survived by his wife, Michelle Blair; mother in law Joan Niesner; sister in law Deborah LaBelle; nephew Michael LaBelle; niece Lisa Smith; his best friend who was like a brother Frank Netto and many great nieces and great nephews. Services for Bob will be held on August 31, 2015 at 11:30 A.M., at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown NJ
