Mark Mickle
Being the oldest of 8 children, Mark was born to be a manager. As a child he delegated his chores at the Mickle Mansion off to younger siblings. Never wanting to be unfair, he‘d pay them a couple bucks. But, really it was just training for the future. For 25 years he managed two McDonald franchises then a Sports Authority store and lastly a fruit and produce distribution center. At home you’d find him relaxed with a good book or planting tomatoes and peppers in his garden. Mark was a hands on Dad giving his time as a Cub Scout leader and coached basketball and softball for his son and daughter. Lately he was into woodworking making fancy canes, preparing an extra income for his retirement years. But more than anything what brought the biggest smiles to his face were family parties.
At one of his jobs he met Ellen Mascaro and they became friends. Five years into their friendship Ellen had an extra concert ticket. The rest is history. They celebrated 23 wedded years and were blessed with a son, Joshua and daughter, Emily. He is the son of George and the late Rita Mickle, and brother of: Kelly (Carol), Kevin (Jodi), Bill (Tracy), Chris (Amy), Shawn (Tori ), Kathleen Baptista and Mary Lynn Heller (Jeff).
Come celebrate 61 vivacious years Saturday, June 11 from 9am at The Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit, 17 Earlington Ave., Mullica Hill where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11a.m. Interment private. Donations to Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute (afcri.upenn.edu/giving) will be appreciated.

I am writing on behalf of my Aunt Ms. Nancy Carson of Mantua. Mark hired Nancy many years ago @ Mc Donalds’ and she always felt he was her best boss of all time. Very fair and a great person to work for… Nancy wanted the family to know she will miss him and sending best wishes your way. A very special person she had the privilege to know. Many a morning she was his first employee that showed up to open the facility…. Nancy Carson ( early shift )
Mark came to G.Mom Nootz’ house after a PHS track meet. Gmom asked how’d ya do?
Mark said “I came in 3rd”!!!
Gmom “THATS GREAT”!!! ” how many ran the race”?
Mark responded ” 3″!!!!

Mark was a dear friend that I enjoyed sharing stories with and every time we met I could count on Mark to make me smile. Mark had a strong presence and a good heart and I am proud to have been among his many friends.
Dear Ellen,
I was so sad to read of Mark’s passing while I was at work today. Everyone in the office that worked with you was also very sorry to hear of your loss. We still remember you with fondness and hope that it helps to know that you and your children are in our thoughts and prayers.
Ellen, Our thoughts are with you and your family at this time. Mark will always hold a special place in my heart. So many memories of the both of you from McDonalds. May God bless all of you. I’m sure he will be missed by many but the number of lives he touched is countless.

Sorry we will not be able to attend but you will all be in our thoughts.
Mark was his name, and appropriately so, as we will discuss,
since he did just that… left his “Mark” on all of us.
He was number one in the Mickle clan,
And he grew to be a very fine man.
The gift of gab is what he had, and he gave advice to many.
Words of wisdom and good will, of which he spoke of plenty.
Always a kind word, or two, or three, or four, or more…
And maybe a witty verse is what he was known for.
He wrote of memories of those he loved most,
Being the son, big brother, husband and father, he just loved to boast.
Although his words were most sincere, it is his actions that we should adhere.
He showed courage and strength, like no other.
For that alone, I admire my big brother.
He will be missed by one and all, and the “Mark” he left is not small.
His memory we will treasure, giving us comfort of great measure.
We will carry on his legacy, and live each day to the fullest,
Remember all his wise words, and be grateful for every minute,
Be thankful for your beautiful life, and that you had Mark Mickle in it.
