Stewart Hindman Sr.

He grew up in Kensington and had a strong personality, but his family knew him as loving and caring. Stu’s grandkids loved calling him Bulldog. He’d spoil them with cookies and other treats. He loved talking all types of sports with them when they got older. The life of a Philadelphia fan isn’t easy: if the Phils, Birds were on you’d hear Stu hollering at his T.V. Earlier years found him working as hard as anyone to support his wife and kids; usually two jobs and he thought nothing of working double shifts. If you ever met Stu he was the type of person who, at the end of a conversation, would stick out his hand and tell you nice talking to you. He served our nation in the Navy.
No one ever doubted his complete devotion to his wife, the late Sarah and he is survived by his children, Robert (Kate), Mary (Tommy), Joe (Lisa), Stu (Diane), Pat (Jill) and Drew; grandchildren, Jill, Marjorie, Stu III, Jennifer Lynn, Tommy, Matt, Danny, Ashley, David, Joe, Laney, Pat, Justin, Nick, Matthew and Sarah and 11 great-grandchildren.
Come celebrate Stu’s life Monday 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside, where there will be an 11:30 a.m. service. Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mt Holly. In lieu of flowers donations to purpleheartfoundation.org will be appreciated.
