Going to church worked out for Tom. It was there that he met his future wife and step children. For 6 years they were best friends. She was a young widow with four children. Tom, much like a kid himself, enjoyed helping to raise them. Eventually the relationship between Chyrll and Tom turned serious and they married. They were blessed with a son, Nathan.
He tried his hand at several businesses. There was the ice cream shop, The Banana Boat, where he gave away more than he sold. Another was a carpet cleaning concern. Their motto was, “if your carpet smells call Kosels”. But Tom’s favorite was DJ Tommy K when he had the most fun.
Later he went to school for a boilers license. Tom found employment at South Harrison Twp elementary school.
He volunteered with the Mantua EMS on the Centre City Ambulance Squad.
In addition to Chyrll he is survived by their children: Heather, Matthew, and Maryssa Kearney, Megan Sheppard and Nathan Kosel; brothers, David and Bruce; sisters: Nancy Parks, Arlene Sweet and Peggy Commauf and 9 grandchildren.
Come celebrate 54 great years Friday from 10 to 11 am at Living Hope Worship Center, Center Sq. Rd. and School lane, Logan Twp. where the service will be at 11am. Burial Hillcrest Cemetery, Sewell.

Tom was an awesome man. He came through for my sister during some very dark days. He was truly a man of god. Even when he was struggling he never strayed from his faith. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, son, and friend. He will truly be missed by all that knew him. He touched many lives with his caring heart and fun loving sense of humor.
