He was full of joy. And if you were lucky enough to be around George, you would be too. Even calling him at 6 a.m., you’d hear his familiar, “Hey, How ya doin”; his smile beaming through the phone. His secret may have been that he didn’t sweat the small stuff; and George knew that, in reality, it was all small stuff.
He never stopped following his dreams, starting a business well into his fifties. Of course, it may have been to entertain his lifelong fascination with the building process. But his biggest accomplishment may have been to inspire others. He motivated and encouraged to his boys to conquer their dreams. : “Keep your head up, stay positive and look on the bright side.” Cancer may have tried to dampen his spirits, but George never let it get him down; no one ever heard him complain.
A young George would meet a pretty girl named Barbara at a hamburger joint in Springfield. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Stephen (Gina) and Geoff (Marie) and grandchildren, Angelina, Zachary, Zoey and Grace Anne. He is survived by his brother, Russell Harbaugh (Mabel).
Come celebrate 70 great years Sunday 6-8 p.m. and Monday 10-10:45 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Parish, St. Joseph’s Church, Swedesboro, where there will be an 11 a.m. service. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro. Donations in lieu of flowers to American Assoc. for Cancer Research (aacr.org) will be appreciated.

His inspiration and zest for life will be left behind , not only in his family members, but with everyone his life touched, including myself. What George possessed was rare and not common in many . It was also contagious. Let us all take a page from George’s life, and strive to practice what he taught and how he lived . Thank you George for brightining my day!
From the time I can remember I never heard or saw my uncle get mad. It may be hard to believe but uncle George was a man who never sweated the small stuff or let anything stop him. The word resilience is a perfect description of my uncle. He never allowed anyone or anything get in his way even when they tried. He showed the world that with hard work and preserverence, you can be successful. From being a self made engineer to owning a water ski business, and ultimately co- creating Harbaugh Developers, George Harbaugh made sure that his family was taken care of…no matter what! Uncle George was a “one of a kind” soul that you most likely will never see again…he was so unique and so special! His larger than life personality, his thunderous laugh, and his perserverence will be missed dearly by everyone he loved, and anyone he knew…Rest in Peace Uncle George, we Love You and miss You!
So sorry to hear about George’s passing. We sure had plenty of good times. RIP
