Luis A. Alvarez Jr.
Of Logan Township, died October 29. He was a Federal Probation Officer for the Eastern District of Philadelphia before his retirement. He enlisted in the military as a young man and served in the Navy and the Navy Reserves. He was originally from Puerto Rico before moving Philadelphia and settling in Logan Township. He earned his Bachelor Degree at Temple University.
He is survived by his son, Luis III and his daughter, Delia and his three grandchildren.
Come celebrate 77 great years Wednesday 9-10:30 at Daley Life Celebration Studio. Mass of Christian will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St Clare of Assis Parish, St. Joseph Church, Swedesboro. Interment Gloucester County Veteran’s Cemetery, Williamstown.

To his wonderful children, Patty and Luis III, Our heartfelt sympathy to you. He was a kind, very intelligent, and God fearing person. We will miss the many telephone calls we had with him. And oh, how proud he was of you both. God bless you both and give you strength. Love, tio Ed and titi Marta
Luis was a neighbor for the last 10 years. He always had a kind word to say and was quick to give Maggie, our dog his full attention whenever we encountered him on our daily walks. He will be truly missed by Dave, I and Maggie. Rest in Peace Luis.

I remember as a child, how I got so excited when Your Dad and mom were coming to PR with you guys. I loved spending vacations with your Dad. He was goofy and always had the silliest jokes. Sometimes corny ones. Lol.
I loved being with all of you so much that I wished to have tio Luis and titi diana as ny parents. Your Dad is with you in spirit, I believe that. I love you both and God Bless
Luis was a true gentleman, had a great sense of humor and was just an overall good man! His family should be very proud of him.
Luis Alvarez was one of the nicest people who ever worked at the U.S. Probation Office. He had the most joyous laugh that made everyone smile. I haven’t seen him in years since I retired, but I am sure everyone who knew him will feel a sense of loss because he was such a sweet person.
My condolences to the Alvarez family. I am truly sad to have learned about Luis’ passing. Although I did not work with him very long at the US Probation office, I can say he was a true gentleman and a very friendly person who took the time to stop by and talk with me. RIP Luis.
Worked with Luis at Probation and remember his kindness and smile. He is someone who will always be remembered.
