She grew up with her hands in dough with her mother and grandmothers and turned that talent into a career managing the bakery at the Vineland Shop Rite. Jewish Apple cakes were her specialty; she won a blue ribbon with one. And she was always trying a learn a little more; JoAnn once took a road trip to Charlotte to bake a cake with the cake Boss that looked like a car. Not just a baker though; she was a well-rounded cook. She learned Irish cooking from her grandmother, Mildred Kinney and all kinds of Italian dished from grandmother, Josephine Musumeci. One of three children, she was her daddy’s favorite. On her 16th birthday she was surprised by the gift of the horse. Of course, the racehorse tuned out to be a little too feisty. Her later years found her travelling with her mom to Europe, Hawaii, Africa, and Dubai. They young JoAnn had lived in Puerto Rico for a summer.
She is survived by her sister, Linda Clemente (Sal), and her brother, Michael (Carla); one niece and three nephews. She was pre-deceased by her mother, Sally and her dad, Allen Kinney.
