Kathleen “Kay” Nothdurft

NOTHDURFT — Kathleen “Kay” Dorothy (Jaeger) Nothdurft, of Swedesboro died on Aug. 6, 2023 with her family by her side. Kathleen was born in Enderline, ND, the daughter of Charles and Veronica Matt Jaeger. She moved to the Swedesboro area in 1944, graduating from Swedesboro High School, Class of 1945. She enjoyed 66 years of marriage to John E. Nothdurft Sr. (her high school sweetheart), and raising their five children, Patricia (Daniel) Yulo, Mary Ann (Tom Barnett) Nothdurft, John Jr., Karen (Les) Viereck III, and David (Lesley). She was a role model for her family being a hard working mother of five, helping run the family business, and being the wife of a dedicated fireman. She was a founding member of, and the originator of the name Save Olde Swedesborough (S.O.S) which later became the Swedesboro Woolwich Historical Society, and an original organizer of the Swedesboro Woolwich Day. She loved her family, reading, recipes, and her cats. She is survived by her children, 14 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Rodney and Jack (Betty Jane) Jaeger; sisters-in-law Doris Jaeger, Peggy Jaeger, and Ann Zayac; predeceased by her husband, sisters Betty Lou (Fred) Tournage, Shirley Dodgen, and Jean (Jack) Pruitt; brothers William and Robert Jaeger; brothers-in-law Wilbert (Joan) Nothdurft, and Joseph Zayac; sisters-in-law Betty (Donald) Hunt and Mary (Pat) Shiveler. In lieu of usual remembrances, Kay said to please give each other a hug and say a prayer for her. Services and interment will be private.
