Margaret Morrison

When the going gets tough ….

There was no more dependable person than Margaret. She worked a litany of jobs while she raised her 5 children: when they were just babies she worked the overnights at Sony Records, was a dental assistant for several area dentists, worked at Valley and Bowe and for Frank Centrion Produce Brokerage and finished out her working career as the Assistant Boro Clerk in Swedesboro. And even in retirement she kept active working at the library and volunteering at Kings Things. Truth be told, it wasn’t just her own kids who relied on her; she was a mom figure for so many more. Her home was a safe haven for any other family members and friends who needed a place to stay and a warm meal. Whatever she was making is what you were having but you knew for sure that Fridays were for spaghetti and Sunday was for roast beef. She found her real calling late in life; doting grandmother to her grands and great-grands; Maragaret never forgot a birthday or anniversary. Her happy place was definitely down at the shore; beach all day then off to the casinos at night. She stayed social as well through the years, participating in Red Hats, Logan Twp. Seniors and Aged to Perfection Seniors. She was a 1951 Swedesboro High School Graduate, playing field hockey and cheerleading and was the Homecoming and Prom Queen.

Of course, more than just getting a high school diploma, it’s there that the pretty Margaret would meet a handsome guy, the late Walt. They shared a 40-year marriage blessed by 5 children: the late Robert, the late Rose Marie Matthews, Roxanne Boucher (the late Jeff), Christian and Debra (Tom) Harker; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Lillian Wolf.

Come celebrate 91 great years Tuesday 9-11 a.m. at Daley Life Celebration Studio, Swedesboro where there will be a 11 a.m. storytime service. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Woolwich.
