In his early years James saw to the family farm in Somerset County. Farming was in his genes, and it always showed through. He tended to his grain farm from dawn to dusk, and on more than one occasion he received awards from the 4-H for raising prized cattle. During WWII he joined the Civilian Air Patrol. Remaining vigilant against German invasion, he spent his nights identifying every aircraft in the sky. Many years later he would join his brother in Cinnaminson, and ultimately settle in Riverton.rn James is survived by his brother Harvey (Irene) of Cinnaminson, and his best friend of 25 years, Peggy Stewart of Burlington. rn James’ 81 years were celebrated privately by his family.
