Caroline E Johner

Caroline E Johner

She was flamboyant and loved to laugh. For Caroline life was an adventure. As a young woman she became unhappy with living in New Jersey and set off her greener pastures. She hitchhiked all the way to California, sleeping in bus stops along the way. She answered her country call and joined the navy. She’d meet a man just out of the Korean War, marry and make her way around the country until again resettling in New Jersey.rnrnLater years found her enjoying old movies with Robert Taylor and Alan Ladd and of course she wouldn’t have minded finding Robert Goulet’s shoes under her bed. Her music tastes were eclectic: she loved to yodel, sang religious tunes, played piano at church and Sunday School and enjoyed listening to everything from Sinatra to country. She loved mysteries, Days of Our Lives, Murder She Wrote and Nancy Drew. She had an abundance of life knowledge that her grandkids sought: everything from boy problems to dealing with parents. Until the end she remained intensely independent and never hesitated to speak her mind. She was a. upbeat social butterfly who loved to be teased but had no problem giving it right back.rnrnShe is survived by her three children: Carol Muehlhauser, Joyce Johner Perez, Gloria Burt, and John Matt Johner, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.rnrnCome celebrate 92 great years Thursday 1 to 1:45 p.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, 337 Bridgeboro Street, Riverside where there will be a service at 2 p.m. Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Cinnaminson.rn

I can not be there but my heart and mind are with you. She took great care of us when we were little and she valued an education. I will always cherish the videos I have rec’d later in her life singing with her Granddaught, Johanna.

I know that Grandma Johner was proud of her grandchildren and loved to hear all about there adventures. I remember how proud she was for me when I came for a visit after I had finishing MOS school. My thoughts and prayers are with the rest of my family in this difficult time.nEricknp.s. Mom-mom was always my playmate when i was young. She always did whatever i wanted and never EVER saidno to me. She loved me dearly, and we were very close. 17 years have went by and she was always something more than a grandmother to me. she was a friend. She was there when my diary ran out of paper or when no one wanted to hear my teenage problems. She fought until the end and i will miss her tremendously. I love you Mom-Mom, may you always watch over us, because then no better angel would be protecting us.rn~Johanna (your peanut)<3

I remember the days going to the shore when we were young just to see a movie. We used to get her lost and always ended up on Arthur drive. We will sadly miss you and your spunk Mom.

May all the family only remember the good times and the laughter. She is now in a peaceful place and free. It is always the ones left behind that feel the pain.
