Jermaine Oglesby

He loved his job at U.S. foods in Logan Twp: J.O. thought nothing of working 15 hours a day and checked in regularly even when he was on vacation. Though there may have been some ribbing from time to time about him being a Steelers fan. As a dad he wasn’t very strict. Most parents say “yes” or “no”; Jermaine would say “yes” or “I’ll see” which would invariably become a yes. He watched all the movies that his girls wanted to see and grinned ear to ear taking them to Disney. Family always came first, and he was always budgeting for trips down the shore and amusements parks and maybe a trip every now and then to the casinos where he and his wife could spend a few hours battling the slots. If his T.V was on he’d be checking out Chicago P.D or Chicago Fire. He grew up in Erial, NJ and graduated from Highland High School in 1992.
He was pulling into a Wawa in Glassboro one day with a friend when he spied a pretty girl who was pulling out. He signaled for her to pull back into the lot and they exchanged numbers. Jermaine would call her house twice before she had returned home to Glassboro from dropping her friend off in Mullica Hill. A date the next day at Bethel Mill Park would lead to a 23-year marriage blessed by two daughters, Olivia Reanne and Sarah Jean. He is survived by his brothers, Leonard and Donald Williams, his sister, Brenda Jones, aunt and uncle Brenda and Joseph Schmidt, mother-in-law Ann L. Hadden, sister-in-law Sarah Pineda, brother-in-law Ramon Pineda and William Hadden, 2 nieces, 3 nephews, and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Beverly and Leonard Oglesby Sr.
Come celebrate 50 great years Sunday, August 20, noon to 2 p.m. at Daley Life Celebration Studio, Swedesboro where there will be a 2 p.m. service.
