Jules Bolstein
February 3, 1948 – January 2, 2025
Jules Bolstein, 76, of Woolwich Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2025. Born and raised in South Philadelphia, PA, Jules spent most of his life in the city before relocating to Woolwich Township, NJ, to be closer to his family.
The beloved son of the late Helen (Abramson) and Benjamin Bolstein, Jules is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Lavender and her husband Jim; Erin Kavanagh; his six grandchildren, Avery, Jessica, Kaitlyn, Madison, Nicholas, and Shaina; and his brother, Morton Bolstein.
Throughout his life, Jules worked in various professions, including as a photographer, eyeglass technician, and airport shuttle driver — jobs he truly enjoyed. But nothing brought him greater fulfillment than his role as a father and grandfather, affectionately known as “Pop Pop Jules.”
Known for his playful spirit, Jules was a kid at heart. He loved movies, particularly science fiction, with Star Wars and Star Trek holding special places in his life. His passions extended to cars, TastyKakes, and, of course, his beloved granddogs and cats, who brought him endless joy.
A lifelong foodie, Jules loved to cook and often boasted about his tender brisket and corned beef. He was also known for making a mean grilled cheese sandwich and had a special fondness for a good bagel and lox sandwich. While Jules appreciated a good steak, he’d take a good old South Philly Nick’s Roast beef sandwich – ‘on the out,’ of course – any day over a New York strip.
While there were many sides to Jules, at his core was a huge heart, a generous spirit, and a deep kindness that touched everyone who knew him. He may not have left behind material possessions, but he gifted something far more valuable to those around him — the lessons of empathy, generosity, and acceptance. Through his family, his spirit will live on forever.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Jules’ life on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Daley Life Celebration Studio in Swedesboro at 3:30 p.m., followed by a service at 4:30 p.m.
