Nelson George Duncan

Nelson George Duncan of West Deptford, N.J. went home to be with Jesus on May 31, 2023 surrounded by his loving wife and children. Nelson was born in Woodbury, N.J. on February 19, 1942 and was a proud long time resident of Pitman N.J. until he moved to West Deptford in 2002. He was a graduate of Pitman High School Class of 1960. After high school, Nelson worked for Struthers-Dunn where he met his wife Virginia Winquist, a pretty girl from Phoenix, AZ, and they were married in 1963. After retirement, he worked part time for Brinks Armored Transportation and finally McGough Bus Company, or “bus world” as he famously coined, as a driver. Nelson also went on to fulfill his lifelong dream of getting his private pilot’s license.

Nelson’s hobbies included science fiction films, planes, trains, and cars, in particular his 1903 Cadillac and Tesla electric cars. As a father, Nelson dedicated his time to assisting his children in school science projects and building the perfect snowman. Nelson was also a longtime member of Verga United Methodist Church in West Deptford, NJ.

Nelson enjoyed being a Husband, Father, and Grandfather more than anything in the world.
