Thomas Dara

Thomas Dara

If you met him once, you’d never forget him:in a world that’s often superficial, Tom loved to make deep connections with people. He had lived in many localities, but his attire remained a constant: Hawaiian shirts and Giants Jerseys. The Jerseys were a nod to his New York roots. He may have yelled at the T.V. when they played but it was more a reflection of his sense of humor than any kind of anger. Regardless of how many hours he put in a work, you’d find him on the sidelines of his boys’ games; Tom never missed an event. He loved southern rock, especially Skynyrd but also had picked up a Bluegrass fetish in recent years. He spent his career in the financial markets working for Solomon Brothers and most recently BlackRock making sure that billions of dollars wound up in the right places. Relaxing times found him watching Fox and catching up with the show Supernatural.
A chance encounter with a pretty girl led to a 36 year marriage to the late Rachel. They were blessed with two sons, Tom (Genevieve) and Matt (Stacy) and grandchildren, Luna Rae, Dylan and George.
Come celebrate 66 great years Saturday August 3rd, noon to 2 p.m. at Daley Life Celebration Studio, 1518 Kings Highway, Swedesboro where there will be a 2 p.m. storytime service.
