Timothy Hunt
Tim was all about the land. He farmed from the days of his youth with the Vierecks and the Gaventas, and even spent most of his wedding day out picking peaches. If not in the open fields, he could also be found in the woods with a bow, shotgun, or rifle in hand. Though he had the pleasure to hunt as far away as Kansas, Kentucky and Wyoming, NJ was his favorite, where he bagged his prized 13 pointer. Wherever they were going on vacation, Tim could find a little extra room in the car for his fishing gear; mostly bass and always catch and release. If his TV was on, you can bet he was watching some war or western movies, anything John Wayne or, of course, any hunting and fishing shows. He was a 1973 Kingsway graduate and spent 35 years working for Gloucester County as a survey engineer. You couldn’t drive any road in GloCo without him saying “See this road? I built this.”
He was the best man at a wedding where he met a pretty bride’s maid; after the reception they all went bowling. Married to Regina “Gini” (née Knoll) for 38-year marriage and blessed with a daughter, Theresa “Teri” (John) Willard. Tim and Teri were inseparable. Tim would dress her in Carhardt and boots, and always had her in tow. He never missed any of her recitals or tennis matches. But he really found his calling as a grandfather with JJ and Grace. JJ was his shadow, always heading out with him for an hour or two in the woods on the 4 wheeler; Grace was his princess.
Tim is pre-deceased by his father, Laurence. He is survived by mother Marie (Edward) Hunt-Young, his sister, Linda (John) Heritage and many nieces and nephews.
Family will celebrate 68 great years at an upcoming memorial service.
