Christopher Ross Walker
He was a big man in both size and character. If you saw him coming you’d know it was Chris with his outstanding big frame glasses, trench coat, facial hair, and ever present suspenders. At home he loved to cook, maybe his Masters in Food Science led him down that path or just perhaps his love of experimenting. He loved to golf and played some of the world’s best courses: Grand Dunes in Myrtle and Pebble Beach. He didn’t waste any time: even his television viewing was for education. He loved the history channel and devoured any readings he could get his hands on especially the encyclopedia and even the dictionary. He loved to live dangerously: a cowboy’s fan in a sea of green.rnLove at first sight happened one summer in Sea Isle. He’d meet a young Cathleen Barry and be engaged in 6 weeks. He was the proud daddy of Chris Jr. “Ross” and Steven Dallas. He is survived by his mother, Mary and brothers: Jay, Kevin, Keith, Kerry, Kirk and Sean.rnCome celebrate 53 great years Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 10-11:30 a.m. at Daley Life Celebration Studio. Mass of Christian Burial Noon at St. Joseph’s Church, Swedesboro. Interment Lake Park Cemetery.

Chris,rnI will always remember our hiking trip with the boys to Delaware Water Gap with our Cub Scouts You and I made it to the top and down (as the old men according to our boys). All our football and baseball games and practices. Coaching with you was so much fun. Especially flagg football, we sure had a lot of fun. I will always remember our many talks and advise to each other. Also, the long weekend we spent installing your hardwood flooring (especially Eric and Ross glueing the hammer to the floor and us finding it the next day). I always said you would be my life line on, Who Wants to be a Millionare, if I ever was on the show. You are the most intelligent person I have ever known you will surely be missed in this family and others. My fondest memories of Chris are when he was in his kitchen or mine, whipping up “just a lttle something” that involved many pans and many spices. The results were always the same…”this is the best(fill in the blank) I have ever had!”rnAlthough Chris was quite happy in the kitchen I would have to say it wasn’t his favorite place to be. Because that would probably be a stadium bleacher seat watching either of his boys play any sport known to man. If you wanted to see Chris at his most animated, ask him about the latest gsme he watched. It didn’t matter if they were playing varsity football or bowling on the Wii…he was an active spectator and could tell you the entire game play by play. I may have not been into sports enough to care, but the sparkle in his eye was too sweet not to keep the conversation going.rnChris’s huge Teddy Bear hugs will be greatly missed and our love and prayers go out to Cathy, Ross and Steven.rnRhonda Denelsbeck and family

Cathy & Kids -rnrnSo sorry for your loss and you have our deepest sympathy. Chris and I would always talk Dallas vs Eagles and he was a avid Dallas fan. John Jr. was devasted to hear the news he truly respected Chris (Mr. Walker) but we talked with him and he is holding tough. We are hear for you and the kids so please don’t hesitate to call or stop over. John, Deb, & kids.

Hold on to what is good, even if it’s a handful of earth. Hold on to what you believe, even if it’s a tree that stands by itself. Hold on to what you must do, even if it’s a long way from here. Hold on to your faith, even if it’s easier to let go. Hold on to God’s hand for he is with you all as you go through this time of sorrow….Chis was a good man and had great taste in women becuase he picked the best for his wife! His children are a testament to his parenting skills they are fine young men! We love you Cathy and boys and are here for you! See you Saturday. <3

I met Chris when he first started working at Wawa, He always knew what to say to make me smile. He loved talking about his family and his football team which i didnt mind since i am as well a Dallas fan, He didnt take no bull and he stood up for what he believed in he even stood up for me one day at work and i will never forget that, Please know that you and your family are in my prayers.
