Seems his hands were never at rest: Ed tended bar at the VFW and Otts, he carved decoys, played guitar, fixed televisions, hunted, fished and loved photography. He even built his own home. As a parent he tended to be a little strict: when the street lights came on, his kids better be home. Come Sunday you knew the Eagles would be on while his family gathered for dinner. Ed loved that old time country music; Marty Robbins was the best of the best. After a 40 hour workweek, his weekends were for play and Ed would be taking his family down to the water. He owned every boat from a canoe to a Chris Craft to a sailboat. He loved Penn State football and was thrilled to have a grandson graduate from the institution. Quiet times would find him and his wife relaxing down the shore or riding dirtbikes through the woods.
A young Ed met the late Florence Barton, the love of his life, at a skating rink. They’d marry and became the real life Archie and Edith. Their union was blessed with three children: Patricia Kauffman, Susan (Woody) Woodruff and the late Sandra Johnson, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his son-in-law, Glenn, grandson, Brian Matusiak and his siblings, Margaret, Jack, Bill and Louise.
Come celebrate 91 great years Monday 10–11 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside where there will be a service at 11 a.m. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson. Donations to Delran EMS, 900 Chester Ave, Delran NJ 08075 or Lutheran Crossings Enhanced Living, 255 E Main St., Moorestown NJ 08057 will be appreciated.

Sorry I wont be able to make the service but my thoughts are with all of you……I knew Mr. Hall a long long time through my best friend Sue….He and my Dad worked together for a time and they were friends as well…..I remember the times Mr. and Mrs. Hall were going to Atlantic city and we went and saw Hermans Hermits I think…..and the diving horse…….many great memories…may he rest in peace….
