Eleanor Keating
If you were looking for Eleanor the last place to try would probably be her home. Whether it was during her younger days in Bordentown, her many years in Delanco or most recently in Edgewater Park she simply kept herself too busy to sit around and let life pass her by. When there was a family event Eleanor was usually the first to arrive and the last to leave. If she was invited to go anywhere, at any time, she could always be ready in a mere ten minutes. The destination was irrelevant; she was more interested in the company. Anything but shy, she was just as happy to strike up a conversation with a complete stranger as she would a lifelong friend. She treated the world like family, and her family like gold. Although she loved the Eagles, Phillies and 76ers, her favorite sporting events were the ones involving her grandchildren. rn In the early 1950s Eleanor was invited to join her brothers for dinner, but she did not want to be a fifth wheel. Fortunately, a young man named Bernie offered to escort her. It would not be long until the two were wed. Before his passing in 1997, their lives were blessed by their daughters: Lorraine Hatcher (Gary) of Riverside, Bev Keating (Steve Veczko) of Delanco and Elaine Roy (Ed) of Riverside. Eleanor is also survived by her grandchildren: Shaun (Nikki), Jennifer (Scott), Jackie (Tony), Michele, Mark and Eddie, great-grandchildren Colin, Justin, Ryan, Joel, Nate and the soon to be born Derek as well as her brothers: Paul Stanton (Anita) of Hamilton and Edward Stanton (Norma) of Delanco, her nieces and nephews and many, many friends. rn Come celebrate Eleanor’s 78 outgoing years (Aug. 13, 1934-Aug. 25, 2012) Tuesday from 6-9 PM and Wednesday from 8-9:30 AM at the Sweeney Funeral Home 337 Bridgeboro St. Riverside. The funeral service will follow at 10 AM at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Riverside. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bordentown. Memorial gifts may be made in Eleanor’s name to Samaritan Hospice 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300 Marlton, NJ 08053.rn

Eleanor was one of the nicest people I have ever met. Always outgoing and pleasant and smiling. She will be missed at St. Stephens Church in Riverside. Rest in peace Eleanor.
Ms. Keating never let grass grow beneath her feet. She showed love and was loved by not just her family but 100’s of people. Whenever, I saw her she ALWAYS had that beautiful smile showing. My prayers, love and support are with her loved ones during this difficult time. May she forever rest peacefully. nPriscilla Jester
I met Eleanor many years ago at the after school program in the township. My daughter, Alexandra, had the pleasure of working with her for many years. They developed a wonderful friendship. I first met Eleanor through girl scouts, she was always such a powerful, positive influence for the girls. Then through PTA and Delanco schools. She was such a sweet bus driver, never complained about her job and really loved her students. She always greeted you with a smile and a big hug. She’ll be surely missed. What a great lady!
I did not know Mrs. Keating but I knew her daughters all shining stars.They say it takes alot of warm sunshine to grow beautiful flowers, well Mrs Keating must have one Big Shining Warm Sun,because she had one Beautiful large family.May the Lord shine down His Love on all of you and May He Bless all of you. I can tell you first hand your Mom is so Happy being with the Lord for it happened to me but I was sent back to earth .So do not fear or cry long for your loss, turn your tears into JOY to celebrate you mom and Grandmoms life.GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU!!

Lorraine and family – I am so sorry for your loss. Having lost my Mom about two years ago, I know it is a sad and difficult time. You will miss your Mom every day, but will also feel her with you, as you know she will be, watching over you and walking beside you.
No words can describe the sorrow of your loss. Please know that your Mother has touched so many lives with love and compassion that in time you will be blessed with many memories from all that have the honor to have a life experience with her. You girls are a true testimonial to what a wonderful person she was.

Lorraine and family. I am so sorry for your loss. Eleanor was a great woman from the first time I met her. She always looked her best inside and out. I ran into her about a month ago at the Rt 130 Diner. While we were talking she mentioned how fortunate she was to have such a loving family. How happy it made her to see her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren grow and how happy she was of the coming birth of her 6th greatgrand son. Eleanor was an amazing woman and she will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.
My thoughts are with Eleanor and her wonderful family at this time. I will always remember playing with Lorraine Keating as a child. We would play in her yard and there were holly trees and flowers and Lorraine’s mom would make us sandwiches for lunch. Eleanor was a sweet woman and I’m sure her daughter’s are so very proud of her. So glad Lorraine and I connected again as adults. I see her many loving notations about her family. Wonderful memories for Eleanor’s family will carry them through at this time. Dear Lorraine, Bev, and ElainernI have only known your mother for a short time since she started coming to St. Stephen’s. During that time I was impressed that Eleanor was so robust and active, always seemed to be going somewhere…..and was still working! She was a postive person, rarely heard her grumble, outgoing – certainly not shy – and willing to help however she could. She cared a great deal about her family. Nothing like seeing love of family at its best. What a wonderful tribute to a great lady. She always had a word or two for anyone she ran into. Bless all of you…your love for her is shining through even in all this sadness.
Eleanor was the neighbor of my mom, Sarah Murphy(B-3) who passed away this past Christmas. My Mom was very fortunate to have her as her neighbor and her friend. My family and I are so very sorry for your loss, Eleanor was a wonderful person and will be truly missed by the Cooper Valley Village Community.
Aunt Eleanor was such a sweet woman, my most sincere condolences to all and I’m sorry I was not able to attend the funeral service today. I will miss her contagious personality at family functions as she literally brightened every room she walked into. I know she will be especially missed by my grandparents, as both a fun-loving sister and a lifetime shopping partner. God bless her and all her family.
I am a secretary at one of the Mt Laurel schools Eleanor worked at. At the end of the day when things were hectic and people were tired, Eleanor would walk in, and you immediately felt better. She just radiated warmth. When she talked with you, she really listened and cared. The best tribute we can all give is to strive to be like this wonderful lady. Lucky are her children to have had her as their mom.
