Elizabeth B. Wilbur

Among her many wonderful traits was her ability to keep a secret. If a friend needed to discuss something Liz was the lady to see. She was a lifelong member of Bethesda UM Church and didn’t just warm the pew. Her Christian nature led her to get involved: she taught Sunday school, was on the Official Board, and was a member of the Tri C class. Being kind and loving came natural to her. rnIn many ways she was ahead of her time. In 1933 she graduated from Swedesboro High then attended Drexel Institute of Technology School of Design. During WWII she studied mechanical engineering through Rutgers University extension classes then was employed with E.I. DuPont as a draftsman.rnEven though Liz was a busy lady she still found time to sew, swim and spend time with her family. After retiring she and her husband traveled to Europe many times. Later years found her residing at Pitman Manor.rnShe was wife of the late Harold. Their marriage was blessed with a daughter , Joanie Wiant (Virgil) of Rock Cave, WV and a son Steven of Mickleton, and a grandson, Brett Wilbur of Mickleton. She is also survived by sisters Virginia Norton of Pedricktown and Louise Hoover (Paul) of Levittown, Pa. Liz was predeceased by a brother, Earl Butler and sister, Dorothy Bennett.rnCome celebrate 95 wonderful years Tuesday from 9:30AM at Daley Life Celebration Studio, Swedesboro where the service will be at 10:30 AM.
