Aunt Jenny always put other’s needs, especially those of her family, before her own. She was a South Philly girl transplanted to Delanco, but she always maintained her city roots. She cheered for the Flyers and strutted to the Mummers. Wannamaker’s was her favorite store, but she rarely if ever bought anything for herself. You’d best not compliment any of her possessions because she’d give them to you on the spot. rnrn She was generous with everyone, especially when it came to tipping. She’d tip the guy who pumped her gas, the nurses at the hospital, even the President, Mayor and the Flyers. She loved to keep active. As a kid she was known as “Lightning Recchuiti” and enjoyed a good foot race even into her 60’s. She and her family played street hockey, competing for their own hand made “Stanley Cup”. rnrn Her husband bragged about her surf and turf dinners (hot dogs and tuna fish), but she entertained her entire family every Sunday with a spaghetti dinner.rnrn While visiting an injured friend at the Naval hospital she caught the eye of a young marine named Robert. They’d soon marry and be blessed by 4 children: Robert, Laura (Richard) Galdo, Eva Zoll, and Marie (Jeff) Pippin; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters, Clara Vella, Anita Palma, Eleanor Garrison, Eva Bognanni, and Olympia McNulty.rnrn Come celebrate 92 great years Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 at St. Peter’s Church, Riverside.
