Everyone loved Fernando. “Every time you saw him he had this huge smile on his face.” He was usually the life of the party, and the outlandish stories he and Phish made up could keep a room captivated for hours. rnWith his extremely inquisitive nature, Fernando had the ability to master anything that caught his attention. Having taught himself to play the guitar, his home was filled with the many songs he wrote. Granted, most of them were about a little black dog named Kirby (coo coo ca choo). But it was always about enjoying the moment rather than writing a masterpiece. His interest in model trains eventually took up the entire attic. Self-taught, he could do just about anything with a computer, which later came in handy given his newfound love of poker. Whether on a table or online, he was always up for a game. He suffered with the Phillies and Eagles, even rooting for them years before they became championship-caliber teams. And with a genuine and sincere charm, everyone enjoyed his company. He was greeted at local establishments with a loud FERN!! like Norm from “Cheers, ” and had a knack for winning people over or driving them crazy.rnAn evening at the Towne Tavern in 1995 is where Fernando met Regina Collinsgru. And although his invitation “to go read a book and get a cappuccino” never happened, it was only weeks until they were inseparable. Wedding bells followed for this fun-loving man and entirely too serious woman who, as someone once said, “really needed Fernando to make her loosen up.” It was so true.rnHe is also survived by his parents: Anibal and Pura Andrade, his brother Bino (Bonnie), and sister Margaret (Rob) Ferrari, all of Riverside. He will be missed by the niece, nephews and cousins he loved so much. rn His in-laws loved him from the instant they met him. He will be deeply missed by his mother-in-law Jean Collinsgru, Bob Collinsgru (Maura), Cindy Collinsgru (Kathy Darnell), Karen Denovich, and was loved by the late John Collinsgru and the nieces and nephews who adored him. He also leaves to mourn him his best friends Dennis Hulfish and Jennifer Harding as well as Darren “Dawg” Filer and his friends at CVS/Lumberton. rnrnCome celebrate 49 creative, fun-loving years Saturday from 1PM at the Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside, where the service will be at 4. Interment private. rn

Mrs. Andrade, My name is CJ and I sat next to Fernando at Grand Jury Duty on Thursdays, I am so saddened to hear of the loss of such a great man, he would always keep us laughing with his humor, and he always put a smile on her faces when he walked into the room. I thank God I met such a wonderful man, a man who truly loved you and his family. We all will miss Fernando. Please accept my deepest condolence on your loss and always know that the memories you both shared will live in your hear forever. God Bless you during this difficult time and always.
Fern always had a smile on his face since the very first time I met him – which was probably at the Pourhouse back in 1991. Such a great guy and always knew how to make everyone laugh. He referred to my daughter, Valeri as Colleen Jr. – I can just hear him saying it right now. Fern will be missed deeply.
I remeber the 1st time I met Fernando I was working at Dee’s Appliances in Delran in the rental departmanet and he came in to pay his bill for his VCR. I recognized the name because I knew his brother Beno. Fernando was very sweet and so handsome! I remember his dark hair and his beard. He will be missed by all who knew him. Heaven will be a much more festive place with him there. God Bless Regina and his family.rnEdie Cobleigh Santos

So sorry to hear about Fernando. I worked with him at Snap-on Tools. There wasn’t a day that went by that he didn’t make you laugh. Even when he was mad or yelling about something by the time it was over with you would end up laughing together. I will surely miss running in to him around town, either in Big Daddy’s or at the car show.rnGod Bless you Fernando!!rnrnMy thoughts and prayers to Regina and the rest of the family.

I remember Fernando being a couple of classes ahead of me in high school. He was always the jokester, making folks laugh whether they wanted to or not. A bright, genuine smile put people at ease when they first met him. I remember being on the track team with him and sometimes laughing so hard I couldn’t run my sprints or be the “rabbit” for the guys running the 200 meter dash. Our world is less one bright, pure soul to shed light upon us all. Rest in peace, and THANK YOU FERNANDO! My condolences to everyone in his family – may his memories ease your time of pain, ’cause you know he’d want you laughing and not crying. He smiles down from heaven on you all.nnBeth CoylenRHS Class of 1981
I’ve known Fernando since my freshman year of high school. We became instant friends through his sidekick Kirk Moritz. You never saw one without the other. His smile and his way to make you laugh whether you wanted to or not, was definately a gift. Years later I became friends with his brother Bino. To be with either of the brothers was a great time. Sundays at Big Daddys will never be quite the same. Being in his company will forever be missed. My Deepest Sympathy to Regina, The Andrade Family, and Everyone that was lucky enough to know him.
ROCK ON FERNANDO
No words can describe Fernando. He was such a special person, complex and there, always there for you. Funny? absolutely! Kind? yes! Genuine? Without a doubt. Open? For sure! Hard worker? Always! Fernando had a way of making everyone feel that they were his best friend. Dennis and I have been best friends with Fernando for years. We have supported each other through some very difficult times, and the best of times. There will be no way to fill the hole he has left in our hearts, and although we had many years together, we feel like we didn’t get enough of him. We pity the people who never knew Fernando – they missed a treasure to hold near to the heart forever. THANK YOU FERNANDO!!!!!!!!! for being you!!! Love & miss you forever!!
