He was a true sports fanatic: Phillies, Eagles, Sixers. Sure, it’s been a difficult run for them, but Jim cheered them just the same. He collected baseball cards and in his spare time he could be found chasing around a white ball at Willowbrook Country Club and with his friends at various tournaments. He put a beating on the casinos: slots, poker and the tables. He always hit and enjoyed bragging about it through text messages. He had a soft spot for his cats, Moe, Mindy and Bud. Later years found him palling around with his newest buddies: his grandkids. He never missed an event and facetimed with them when he couldn’t be around. Jim served our nation in Vietnam and gave Hoaganese 25 years.
He is survived by his children: Jim (Erica), Megan and Shannon; and grandchildren, Madison, Matthew, Mason, Nicholas, Max, Gracia and Zoey. He was predeceased by his wife of 24 years, Donna, his parents James Sr. and Rita Cooney Sproles and his brother, John Sproles.
Dress casually (preferably in Philly sports jerseys) and come celebrate 66 great years Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday 10-10:45 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home where there will be a Hugs and Memories Service at 11 a.m. Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Cinnaminson.

Thank you for raising the man of my dreams! Sometimes when he is being silly and joking with kids, it reminds me of your silly ways with them. There is nothing that you wouldn’t do for your family, and we are very thankful for the years you blessed us with!
I will miss holidays together the most, making sure we had exactly what you like to eat, drink (diet coke) and specific desserts 😉
I know I would drive you all crazy with always taking pictures, but I’m glad I did, because now we have many memories to look at with our children, but my favorite memories weren’t always captured in a photo, they are captured in our hearts and minds! We will miss you and always love you. It’s not goodbye Dad, it’s see you later!
So sorry to hear about the loss of Mr. Sproles. He always brightened up my day when he would come into the VFW. Very respectful. He will be missed by his family and friends. Positive thoughts and prayers to all of his loved ones,.
