The frame on his license plate said it all – He who dies with the most toys wins. According to Jack life was to be lived and that’s what he did, as large as possible. He thought the trick to being a good salesman was honesty. He relied on giving sound advise instead of overselling. His career started at Scheie Eye Institute and later he had an office in Swedesboro and finished his career with Charles Bell Co.rnWhen Halloween decorations came down, Christmas ones went up. His stocking gifts remained wrapped long after the holiday to keep the season alive. He always bought the perfect gift. rnNeighbors wore “Jack’s Diner” T-shirts as an homage to his cooking. Everyone knew to stop in hungry on Sunday mornings.rnJack took all of his endeavors to the hilt. When his son took up BMX racing Jack spent countless hours prepping the track at the 4H grounds. rnAt 4:28pm Sundays his boat left the dock to arrive at Seacrets precisely at 5pm for the start of the Power Play Band. He’d chime in with his cowbell. rnJack and his wife, Jackie won many a dance contest together. His dancing is what won her over since she wasn’t initially impressed with the 7th grade Casanova. Their union was blessed with one BMX racer, TJ (Leslie). Jack was “Pop Pop” to grandson, Jaden and is survived by a sister, Jill McKinney and brothers, Jon and Jaymie Smolens. He was “Uncle Turkey” to many nieces and nephews.rnCome celebrate 64 fun loving years Saturday from noon with story time at 1pm at Daley Life Celebration Studio, Swedesboro.rnDonations to the American Red Cross (American.redcross.org) will be appreciated. rnLeave a story of Jack at lifecelebrationstudio.comrn

Jackie,nnWe all love you very much! We are all here for you and you are in our every thought.
Mr. Taylor, when I hear your name or see a picture you on TJ or Leslie’s Facebook, I am instantly reminded of my childhood days when I used to come over and hang with TJ. Your house was the coolest house in the neighborhood. There was always something to do. TJ had the coolest toys from four wheelers, bmx bikes, remote control cars, and ice hockey rinks in the backyard. I remember the license plates “whoever dies with the most toys wins”. Great Quote. My condolences to TJ and family. I am sorry I could not make the services, because of work. What great family. Sincerely Richard Hernandez
As a “Jack’s Diner” frequent visitor and proud owner of the famous t-shirt, I remember all of the breakfasts, 4:28 departures, and the dancing. Summer will never be the same. I am closer to Jack than any uncle and almost as close to him as my own Dad. Jack and Jackie have been my second parents for many years and many memories have been made that will help us all through the rough times. I wish Jack was here to see the grand kids play this morning, we will train them well to continue the fun things my Dad and Jack always did! I love you Jack!
I lost 1/2 of my dance partner and will miss him, I will take good care of the other 1/2 my gal Jackie. We lost one of our crazy eight group, he will always be with us, watching over us and in our hearts forever. Only the good die young!
Jack always made me smile anytime I had the pleasure of spending time with the Taylor family. He was a happy soul with a good heart and I will miss talking with him when I visit. I am praying for the Taylor family and hoping that wonderful memories will help see you through this very difficult time. I love you. Warmest wishes, Marie
My condolences. Jack was a fine person. I knew him only from his professional association as an opthalmic technician. As our national President, he was our leader and did fine job.rnrnI will miss him. God Bless!
My condolenced to TJ and his family. We can’t ever forget Taylor Porkrolls at Mullica Hill BMX. You will be missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with Jackie, TJ and the rest of your family during this difficult time. There are so many memories I have of Jack from growing up: from the times up in the poconos, to the times at the shore, to the many, many BMX races that we all went to and just BBQs at our houses. The times at the BMX races (both in Mullica Hill and the several other states we traveled to) hold so many memories that I can’t describe in words (from Brandy, to having to watch the pig “Taylor Porkroll”, to just hanging out at the trailer) Jack was such an amazing man and will be greatly missed by many and his memory will live on forever for everyone that he knew. rnMy Condolences,rnStephanie (Bowman) Cosentino

Jackie, TJ and the rest of the family, our deepest sympathy goes out to you and all whom crossed his path. “Just Jack” is quite an irony for Jack was anything but that. Our deepest condolences to Jackie and the family. nWe will truly miss Jack and all his crazy antics. He use to always sneak up on me at Seacrets and cover my eyes and want to me guess who he was, when I knew he was the only one who would ever do this to me 🙂 I use to love to watch Jackie and him dance and wished my husband could have those moves..and when he got hold of the cow bell he would have a smile that wouldn’t quit. Rest in Peace Jack and know that all of us in Ocean City will miss you! God Bless, D&D

My sincere sympathy goes to Jackie, TJ and your families. I worked for Jack as a technician at Scheie in 1980-1982. He was the best boss I have ever had. He took such pride in his work and helped us to be the very best we could be. He got us all involved in ATPO and because of Jack, our careers really took off. I give the credit where it is due. He was a good man – honest and helpful to everyone and he will be so missed by all those who were blessed with sharing in his life. God bless you all. His legacy lives on in us.
Jack was a great customer but also a freind and we will miss him. Jackie are prayers are with you.
Jackie, our condolences go out to you and your family on the loss of Jack. Our short time together blossomed as we got to know each other dancing and listening to Power Play at the Clarion and later Seacrets. It was about the 3rd time at the Clarion that I had seen Jack, and he had on this flaming red “Just Jack Weekend” t-shirt, that I had to go up, introduce myself and ask him what this was all about. He said he was out on the town without his sweet heart, but he was still going to dance and have sme fun. From there it was cookouts, boat rides in the fog, getting lost going to Seacrets and arriving at Fishtales, Chincoteague, Las Vegas and a whole lot of good times. Jackie, I’m sorry for your loss of the love of your life. Jack is now Dancing on the Cieling and smiling down on you. Our love, John & Avery.

So, so sorry to hear of his passing. We were high school friends and just recently we were looking at prom pictures with Jack in them. He married a very dear friend, Jackie Baird. They were a wonderful couple from the very start. We are not surprised that they had such a wonderful life together. Joanne Whearty
We just found out about Jacks passing our deepest sympathies to Jackie and T.J.Many fine memories of the old B.M.X.days. R.I.P. JACK!!
Jackie thanks for sharing Jack with me on the Seacrets Dance Sand. When I sent word to your Bowie Md. family they were all so saddened and wanted me to send a million heartfelt condolences. We love you Jackie and we will miss our buddy Jack!!!
Jack an I became friends during his days as AACAHPO (now ATPO) President. Over the years, we haven’t seen each other much, but always found a few minutes to catch up on the exhibit floor of national meetings. Jack and I roomed together at a meeting many years ago. Jack was a jokester – He brought what he called a “Jew pickle” and placed it under my pillow. I can still smell that pickle to this day (-:).
Jack gave me my first job in ophthalmology at Scheie and he was so encouraging and supportive. Jack took care of all of us and we loved him. I owe so much to him and will always remember him fondly. Even now, more than 30 years later, he’s still the best boss I ever had.
Jackie, rnrnI was so sorry to hear the news of Jack’s passing…I could hardly believe it. He was a wonderful Man, Husband, Father, and Pop-Pop. His pressence was larger than life and he brought a smile to everyones face when he entered a room. I have many fond memories of Jack. He was just a fun loving guy! I share your pain in knowing how hard it is to lose the “love of your life”. Thinking of you and your family and keeping you in my prayers. May the memories you hold dear help to heal your pain and sorrow. Love, Debbie Masters and family
