John was lucky enough to meet Sara Maccherone at a party. Not only did he garner a wonderful wife but he came to live in Gloucester County. Here he relished nature and the great outdoors. When not hammering and sawing, John could be found in a tree stand or casting a line. He was a meticulous independent contractor in home improvement… a perfectionist. He was later drawn to the perks associated with employment in the public sector and joined the maintenance staff at Rowan University. When he put the hammer down he’d be off building tree stands, getting his boat ready for the Delaware Bay, working on restoration of muscle cars, or sitting in the stands watching his sons’ little league, soccer and football games.
After that party John spent 42 years with Sara and they were blessed with John, Jr. (Kristy), and two grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother and fishing buddy, Robert (Theresa).
Come celebrate 64 great years Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Daley Life Celebration Studio, Swedesboro. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, Swedesboro. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Woolwich Twp.
