For Marie there was nothing better than being with family, especially when they had chocolate with them. Whether it was M&Ms, a Hershey Bar or Hershey Kisses she always loved a sugary treat. She even preferred her Boost with more syrup than water. But all the chocolate in the world could not make her a sweeter person. And the focus of her affection was always her family. From the days when she served as a den mother to when she looked forward to weekly dinners at her son’s home and trips out west to visit her son in California, nothing made her happier. When blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she delighted in her role as grand mom and then grand mom mom mom mom. In her younger years she volunteered her time at the Delanco Public Library and in her later years was active with the Delran Seniors. But, when she had time to herself it was the simple things that brought her pleasure. All she needed was her crochet and knitting needles, a good book or the most recent edition of The Positive Press and perhaps the Game Show Network or some Polka music.rn As a young woman Marie began dating a young man named Lester Sutton. Before his passing in 2005, their 61 years of marriage were blessed by their children: Nanci Clem (Derwood) of Moorestown, Thomas (Judy) of Delran and Richard (Michelle) of California and again by their grandchildren: Michelle Sutton-Kerchner (Jeff), Christina Rutledge (Bill), Sandy Farley (Troy) and Daniel Sutton and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also the sister of Dorothy Beattie and Ed Orfe (Jane) and was predeceased by her sister Anne Stephens, and brothers Vincent Orfe and George Orfe.rn Come celebrate Marie’s 93 wonderful years (May 12, 1919-July 6, 2012) Sunday, July 8 from 6-8 PM and Monday from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 AM at Jesus the Good Shepherd Church (St. Peter’s Site) 101 Middleton St., Riverside, NJ 08075. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the church. rn

Our sincere sympathy to the Sutton Family. Marie was a sweet lady who will be missed beyond measure.
My sincere condolences to the Sutton Family, especially my old friend, Richard. I have fond memories of your mom from when we were very young. I remember when you had to ask your mom, Rich, if we could “go upstairs.” She always kept a watchful eye on us. 🙂 I would run into her from time to time and she always was very warm in her greeting to me. She was a wonderful lady. My heart goes out to you all.
So sorry to hear about your mother/grandmother. My thoughts are with all of you.
