Michael – Zappa

Michael – Zappa

rnFor Michael the Eagles and Phillies were more than a passing interest. They were his obsession. Tailgating was an all day affair and he would eat a least three times before the game began. However, even that paled in comparison to the love he had for watching his youngest, Alexandra, compete in every sport under the sun. His sense of humor was dry. If he made fun of you, you could be sure that you were one of his favorite people. His Italian roots couldn’t keep him out of the Polish American Club. He was born in Philadelphia and worked for the WELCO Co. of Plymouth Meeting and served in Vietnam in the Air Force.rnHe is survived by his wife Robin; children Dominic, William, Dylan and Alexandra; his mother, Marie; sister, Donna (Larry) Pickett; and grandchildren, Ocean and Fiona.rnCome celebrate 60 great years Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside where there will be a service at 7 pm. Interment private at the convenience of the family.rn

I’ve known Mr. Zappa since I was little. He was a great father and went to everyone of Alex’s softball and basketball games. He always helped out the team and gave us advice on how to improve. My favorite memory of him was when he pilled Alex, Me and several other friends into his pickup truck to go sledding in another town. My mom gave me girl scout cookies to give to him to thank him for driving us but he insisted that the girls (us) have them instead. Thanks for the cookies Mr. Zappa, you’ll be greatly missed<3
