Ron – Baus

Ron – Baus

rnSome are destined to succeed, others are determined. For Ron it was a little of both. An obscure Nixon Administration energy ruling lead Ron away from an electric company career and into the automotive world. He’d chart a course from lot attendant to owner of several successful dealerships including Spirit in Swedesboro and Jay Fisher Pontiac in Elmer. His drive was fueled by one thing: providing a comfortable life for his wife and kids. Ron was the physical embodiment of the art of the deal mixed with ADD.rnHis business interests weren’t confined to the dealerships. He also dabbled in real estate (for the thrill of negotiating rents) and raised four legged friends at his Shi-Tzu Zoo.rn As aggressive as his moves were in car dealing they paled in comparison to his charitable endeavors. He brought comfort to uncomfortable places. Ron would be first to knock on a cardboard box to offer the homeless a sandwich, a hug and his friendship . He thought nothing of leaving the dealerships for a month or two to help out at missions worldwide or rebuild after a hurricane. The Lord moved him to start Shield of Faith Ministries so that he could lend a helping hand to those on the rebound.rnHe lived life like there wasn’t a second to spare. There wasn’t a sporting event he didn’t have tickets for (and one for everyone else). His love of boating stretched from canoes to air boats. He collected everything from motorcycles to fire trucks.rnFlirtations in their Northeast Philadelphia neighborhood would lead to a 38 year marriage to Diane (nee Lazor). Verification that apples don’t fall far from trees can be seen in sons Ron Jr. (Susanna) and Michael (Jennifer) and daughter, Alyssa. In the presence of granddaughter Kaysie he was known to regress to his childhood years. He is survived by a sister, Katherine Close Valentino and a brother, Gary Laudenslager and was pre-deceased by siblings Richard V. Baus, Jane Baus and Barbara Giselle. rnCome celebrate 56 years of non stop adventure Wednesday 5:00 to 9:00 pm and Thursday from 9:00 am at Daley Life Celebration Studio where there will be a service at 11:00 am. Baus family- You are all in my prayers and thoughts constantly. He touched the lives of many people (which was easy to see just being at your house that past few days). He obviously had a spirit of love towards everyone and God used him in amazing ways. This time may be extremely difficult and every day may not be any easier to mend the pain, but take comfort in God and His absolute, perfect plan. Cling tightly to the Cross and let God pour out His love and comfort to you all.

Though I didnt know you all that well, I feel like I knew you through Alyssa. You raised an amazing girl; Spectacular even. I can only hope that you knew that before passing. But I cant see how you wouldnt, you lived with her and saw her every day of your life. I have only known her for a handful of years and I know how amazing of a girl she is; how amazing of a woman she will become. You have succeeded in life because you have raised an amazing girl. I hope you find peace, and know you will never be forgotten. rnWith Deepest sympathiesrn~Tyler Bills

  11. Christie Maul says:

There was a time when i was lost in the ways of the world:living on the streets, addicted to drugs, sick, hurting, and near death. Not only did he help me to find the right place i needed to be to get my life together, and to find God in my life again, but he also drove down to Alabama to visit with me for a day, and encourage me being so far from home. Mr.Baus getting me into the Mission saved my life. I am here today because of the Grace of God, and the help of a caring man, who many times was like a father when I was alone or hurting. With Ron’s help and actions, and God’s grace, I am the person i am today. I am so thankful for the Baus family. I am so blessed to have the Baus family in my life. You are all so very important to me, and i love you all very much. Ron is a special person to me, and his being has made you all so very important and special, especially to me and my family (the Noel’s).rnMy prayers are with you all. Ron helped to save my life. I am very proud to have known him the way I did, and I thank you all very deeply for never giving up on me after so many years.rnGod’s blessings, and much lovernChristie Maul

There is no way we could cram 25 years of memories into this little space. Over the years we have grown to love the Baus family and we will miss Ron Sr., sooo much. When Ron died, all of the adventure went out of our lives. We are counting on Michael to take up the slack. Ron initially met us when he hired us to perform some legal work for the dealership. His general philosophy is, if you give every lawyer in town some work, no one of them can sue you! smart smart man. We just were glad that we were able to work together for the next two decades. The first big deal occurred when Ron called us at 8:30 pm and said, “Get out of your pajama’s and come to the Holiday Inn. I just finalized the negotiations for the Dealership and I need you to write it up right now!” His first big acquisition was memorialized on a Holday Inn Bar napkin! We have spent the next twenty years trying to get him to slow down just enough so we can use real legal paper. He lived life at full throttle. When ever we called the dealership we asked: Where is senior now? Sort of like, where in the world is Carmen Santiago? The answer could have been Romainia or Utah. We never new. He was brilliant. We love you all. We loved him. We’ve got a million stories. Our world will never be the same.

I am always here for you guys and I love you all very much. -angela.

  16. Peggy Battaglia says:

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Baus family from your family at Sun National Bank. We will miss Ron’s energy and kindness that he brought each and every time he walked in.

  17. Michele Spector says:

I met Ron on a business trip to Monte Carlo. He and his good friend Joe would be guests of my company; my clients. I don’t know what was bigger; Ron’s capacity for fun or his capacity for love. With no agenda; we all shared a spectacular week getting to know each other, laughing, and knowing it was a week that would remain special even as the years rolled on. I met up with Ron again a few years later as my guest in New Orleans. I was with Ron when he received a call from his son that they were expecting a child; a genuine beam of sunshine on his face on a stormy and cold day in Louisiana! I am so sorry that he has passed too soon …but he lived his life without fear or regret! My condolences to the family. If you met Ron; you didn’t forget him! No fear; no regrets!

  18. Vince says:

To the Baus family with all my sympathy. I remember Ronnie as being someone who would ALWAYS help! I remember when I spoke to Ron about starting a food bank at Kings Things, and I saw the fire in his eyes as he said WHEN DO WE START! He helped in getting us food, supplies, and other sundry items to get off our feet. He was a soldier for Christ and now is walking with Him. We’ll all miss Ronnie and what he stood for…….helping those in need.

  19. Greg Gentile says:

My deepest sympathy to Ron Jr., Mike and family. Always enjoyed chatting and traveling with your dad on those Comcast trips. We will miss him. Regards, Greg

  20. Ed and Liz Kane and Family says:

To the Baus family we wish to extend our most sincere heartfelt prayers and thoughts for your family. Ron was one of the most honest and genuine businessmen we have come to know and to do business with many times over the past 10 years. We have bought many cars, trucks and have shared through word of mouth how truly special “Spirit” Dodge was and that once you bought a car you were one of their extended family. We will NEVER forget your kindness the year you extended the use of the RV for our girls to use during the Salem 4H fair for the week. Mom Kane wasn’t able to tent camp anymore due to her bad back and Ron Sr was more “MORE” then generous to offer the use of one of his 5th wheels. We will never forget his kindness and generousity for doing that. Ashley won multiple times that week and made Ron and Spirit dodge a special plague with one of her blue ribbons as a small symbol of our gratitude and we delivered it to Ron Sr personally with all of our thanks. We are trully saddened as the community has lost such a wonderful kind man that lived his faith through his life. God Bless your family through this hard time and we hope you know you are being lifted in many peoples throughts and prayers. Ron Sr you are surely one of those special Angels in heaven!!!!

No words can express the pain your family is experiencing and it will only take time to heal but know that God will see you through and will not bare more than you can handle upon your shoulders. Ron was a great father and husband, a very smart business man, and great person to work with. Ron will be remember as a person having a heart of gold. Ron Sr. is in a better place but has not completely left, apart of him still remains here with his family. We will continue to keep your family in my prayers. rnrnCabezas Familyrnrn
