She was a simple hardworking woman; Rowena dedicated her life to her kids and family. She wasn’t the type to sit back and watch her kids play; she’d jump in and play right along side them. She loved to cook and canned her own spaghetti sauce and apple sauce. Summertime saw her taking the kids down to Seaside; relaxing and playing a little miniature golf. During the war she worked for the railroad and later years found her working at the Rancocas Post Office.
A young Rowena Smith met a Willingboro boy. The late William probably won her over with his baseball prowess. They’d marry and settle in Willingboro and be blessed by three sons, Glenn (Virginia), Lloyd and the late George (Jessie); three grandchildren, Shawn (Amanda) Raff, Kevin (Julie) Raff and Kristin (Andrew) Long; and three great-grandchildren, Abigael, Colton and Aiden.
