Samuel Paul Rua
Samuel Paul Rua, born on April 21, 1940, deceased September 28, 2014. Beloved husband of Patricia (nee Bishop), graduate of Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in 1963. Owned and operated Paramount Drug since 1973. Father of three daughters, Deborah (deceased), Barbara and Marcianne and son, Samuel Jr.. He had 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In his youth he enjoyed hunting, fishing and fast cars. As time went on working on Bonsai plants, going to the casino with his wife and spending time with his family were included with his hobbies.
Come celebrate 74 great years Friday 8-10 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. at Jesus the Good Shepherd Church, St. Peter site, Riverside. Following interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, all are invited to a reception at the Knights of Columbus, Riverside.

So sorry to hear about Sam’s passing. Our family were long time patrons of Paramount and my father did electrical work at the old location plus the current one. A true friend and St. Peter’s parishioner. We will miss his expert pharmacy skills that helped our family so many times in the past years. Sam’s kindness and generosity in all community events were stellar. He never said no to a poster in his window for any event big or small for any community in the riverfront area. His generosity to others and his monetary contibutions for all riverfront events were again stellar and first class. Thanks Sam for being a great and lasting businessman in Riverside for generations. Although I cannot attend the funeral on Friday but parking near Paramount for church will remind all of us of Sam’s faith and commitment to his church and community . Rest in peace and in God’s love.
