Thomas J. Morrison, Jr.

Thomas J. Morrison, Jr.

If grandparents received awards for perfect attendance, Tom would have been first on the list. Though he was blind, he listened intently at all of their functions. But nothing was better than when he would take them to see his beloved Phillies: T-shirts all around. If his T.V. was on odds are he’d be beating contestants at Wheel and Jeopardy. Tom was raised in Swedesboro (one of the last of the remaining Peeltown Gang) and spent his youth on the basketball court at St. Joe’s and the football field at St. James. Earlier years found him working as a dispatcher at Universal Supply Co., in Gloucester City.

Thomas was the husband of the late Patricia and is survived by his daughter, Tara Morrison-Smith (Shawn); his son, Joe (Laura) Martin; his sisters, Sr. Mary Ella Morrison, O.P., Kathleen Vuk (Robert) and Margaret Mary Kain (Joe); and 4 grandchildren.

Come celebrate 69 great years Sunday 4-6 p.m. and Monday 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Daley Life Celebration Studio, Swedesboro. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Swedesboro. Interment Hillcrest Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers to Guardian Angels School, 717 Beacon Ave, Paulsboro 08066 or Padua Academy, 905 N. Broom St., Wilmington 19806 will be appreciated.

Tom was one of the kindest and well meaning men I have ever worked with. He was someone that I wanted to do well for when I drove for him and I knew that he cared about the people around him. He came to a number of my family reunion BBQ’s over the years we worked together and I have a lot of great memories of him. I am sorry for your loss and will keep you and him in my prayers.

Our deepest sympathy to you and your family during this difficult time. Although we never met your Dad, the stories you have told – he was a wonderful Dad and Grandfather. Do know you have your parents as your very special Angels!
