With her never ending supply of wit, you were never quite sure what was going to come out of Zita’s mouth. But, considering she could find the fun in anything it was normally something to make you laugh. That was one of the reasons she was so good at making new friends. Most recently, while living in Cooper River West in Pennsauken even the nursing staff was fast to befriend her. Likewise, her love of cooking certainly helped with her popularity. If it was Hungarian, chances are she had cooked it at one point or another.
Zita is survived by her children: Marion DeKoff of FL., Loretta Wooters of DE and Walter Harbison of Riverside, as well as by her 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is the sister of Otto Mayer of DE., Paul Mayer of PA and Pauline Downing of Phila.
Come celebrate Zita’s 91 wonderful years (Feb. 28, 1922-May 21, 2013) Saturday from 10 AM at the Sweeney Funeral Home, 337 Bridgeboro St., Riverside, where the service will be at noon. Interment to follow on Wednesday, May 29 at Greenmount Cemetery, Philadelphia at 12:30 PM.
